Creating and publishing financial statements (Income and Expenditure reports with variances to budget and forecast) is available as a built-in function. These can be dynamically configured and are capable of showing, inter-alia, time-driven trend analysis and period and year-to-date comparisons.
Ad-hoc queries and custom reports
For maximum value when designing reports, ask the following two questions before specifying a report:
- Who is the report provided to?
- What is it that they do do with the information?
Odoo then provides many reporting options to access your data, including:
- BI (Business Intelligence) on-screen reports
- PDF download reports
- Data exports (in a variety of structured formats)
Reports can be generated for any historical date. i.e. previous month ends or “as at” dates.
Exploring your data (Business Intelligence)
The on-screen drill-down feature enables you to explore or browse through the data within your system. As the data is linked together, threads can be followed from one point to another.
For example, exploring invoice data might lead to customers, then customer bank accounts and exploring products can lead to purchasers of the product, invoices and due dates.
This is a very powerful feature and almost any report can be created. Once you have created a report, you can save it, share with other users, or add to your dashboard for one-click access.
